**Objective:**
1. Students will be able to identify family members.
2. Students will understand basic duties of each family member.
**Materials:**
- Family photos or illustrations
- Chart paper
- Markers
- Crayons
- Storybook about families
- Hand puppets (optional)
**Introduction (5 minutes):**
1. Begin with a greeting song to welcome the students and get them engaged.
2. Introduce the topic by asking questions like "Who lives in your house?" and "Can you tell me who your family members are?"
**Direct Instruction (10 minutes):**
1. Show pictures or illustrations of different family members (e.g., mother, father, brother, sister, grandparents).
2. Briefly explain who each family member is.
- Mother: She takes care of the family, cooks, helps with homework, etc.
- Father: He works to provide for the family, helps fix things around the house, etc.
- Sister/Brother: They play with you, help each other, etc.
- Grandparents: They tell stories, care for the grandchildren, etc.
**Activity 1: Story Time (10 minutes):**
1. Read a short, engaging story about a family and their roles.
2. After reading, ask questions about the story to reinforce the roles of each family member.
**Activity 2: Drawing and Coloring (10 minutes):**
1. Give each student a piece of paper and crayons.
2. Ask them to draw their own family and share it with the class.
3. Walk around to assist students and engage them by asking who they are drawing.
**Closure (5 minutes):**
1. Have a circle time where each child can show their drawing and explain the family members they drew and what each member does.
2. Recap the lesson by summarizing the different family members and their duties.
**Assessment:**
- Observe students’ ability to identify family members through their drawings and explanations.
- Listen to their answers during story time to ensure they understand the roles of each family member.
**Extension Activity:**
- Use hand puppets to role-play different family members and their duties, allowing students to take turns and interactively reinforce the lesson.
